Issue Date: 31 January 1987

Obverse: Features the yacht “America” which raced against the British Royal Yacht Squadron around the Isle of Wight in 185 and clinched the now priceless trophy, the “America's Cup”.

Reverse: Depicts the striking “America’s Cup” encircled by the legend “Samoa I Sisifo, Five Ounces, 999 Silver. The exquisite $5 silver coin is legeal tender in Western Samoa.
