LA PHOTO ANCIENNE SÉPIA. Le sépia est un type de photos monochrome dans lequel l’image apparait dans les tons bruns. Le rendu d’une photo ancienne sépia peut être défini comme étant opposé au niveau de gris utilisé dans une photo ancienne noir et blanc. Ce type de photographie a été produit avec le procédé d’ajout d’un pigment conçu à partir de la poche d’encre des seiche Sepia

POURQUOI LA COULEUR SÉPIA ? Un processus chimique est utilisé afin de convertir tout l’argent métallique restant en sulfure.
Celui-ci à l’avantage d’être beaucoup plus résistant à la dégradation du temps. C’est la raison pour laquelle la photo ancienne sépia a été démocratisée. Ce sont les photographies qui ont survécu jusqu’à aujourd’hui. Ce type d’impression avait presque pris fin dans les années 1930.
