1893/1898, lot of four commercially used envelopes: 5c. blue oblit. by red "star" duplex "ESCUINTLA 28 AGO 1893" to Guatemala; 5c. blue uprated by Quetzal 1c. blue, postmarked by two "A" markings and c.d.s. "AGENCIA POSTAL AMBULANTE GUATEMALA Y ESCUINTLA ABR 3 1894" to Guatemala; 6c. on 5c. blue uprated by Quetzal 2c. brown (2) with violet "star" duplex mark "ESCUINTLA 20 ENE 99" to London; 6c. on 5c. blue uprated by 1898 surcharges from "GUATEMALA 6 OCT 1898" to Germany (stated to be the earliest recorded use for this envelope). A nice and interesting group.

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
