Ireland Postage Due Maritime Transatlantic Belfast 1896 underpaid cover from New York to Belfast, erroneously prepaid Washington 2c (domestic rate, instead of 5c rate to Europe) tied NEW YORK MAR 10 1896 machine, taxed there with duplex "T/15/DUE" (15 gold centimes) and large handstruck "3d/=" in black on face, backstamped BELFAST MR 18 96 cds. The threepence due marking not recorded by Mackay, and may have been issued to the sorters on the Transatlantic packets.
