Ireland Uniform Penny Post Tipperary 1845 cover to Mountmellick "Paid 1" single UPP rate, with URLINGFORD Town Namestamp on face, transit Thurles with italic "Thurles/Penny Post" on face, THURLES MR 19 1845 on reverse, green ROSCREA MR 19 1845 and black EMO MR 19 1845 transits, blue MOUNTMELLICK MR 20 1845 arrival on face. It is unclear why Thurles applied its Penny local post stamp (would normally indicate origin at Holycross), and Urlingford was a sub-office under Johnstown. It may have been a case of selecting the incorrect handstamp in error. Cover with fault on face where the acid in the manuscript ink has worn the paper.
