1788-2003: Postal history and stamp collection in four stockbooks, with about 160 covers, postcards, parcel cards and postal stationery items as well as the 1918-1940 stamps and souvenir sheets used and the 1991-2003 issues mint never hinged. This impressive collection starts with early stampless letters as 1788 letter from Mitau (circled Crown h/s) or 1818 letter from Libau to Holland and others, Russian stamps on covers and postal stationery used from Latvia, also German WWI field post including scarce items like 1919 cover franked by Libau (German Occ.) Provisionals 5pf. and 15pf. (Schlegel certificate), followed by the Latvian stamps and covers from 1918 including a lot of scarce items like 1919 25k. perf at top, 1925 'Libau' set IMPERFORATED on cover, 1930 'Rainis-Fond' set (perf and imperf (Wassmann cert.) and on cover) similar 1932-33 sets, all the airmail stamps and covers like 1933 Latvia-Africa cover franked with the complete set of five (signed) or 1933 Latvia-Africa 25s. pair on cover (Mikulski cert.) and others, the 1941-44 German Occ. period with some scarce items like 1945 bisected German field post stamp used on postcard from Libau (Gabisch cert.), and the modern issues (1991-2003) with stamps, souvenir sheets, booklets and postal stationery. An extraordinary collection with a lot of highlights, and almost fine to very fine condition (far above average, exhibition quality).

In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
