From 1871 on. Elaborated collection 'The railroad' on 221 sheets in 4 volumes. It is divided into 7 main chapters (prehistory, worldwide distribution, technical development, track, travel, operation and urban transport). Everything in this lovingly made collection is described in detail and expertly (German text). Included are many good pieces, for example Yugoslavia 1949 s/s 4A/4B each with first day cancel, Trieste Zone B 1950 s/s 35A/35B on registered FDC to the USA, Belgium with some nice sets of railroad package stamps (unused), Spain 1930 Railway Congress (unused), San Marino 1932 Local railway to Rimini (unused) as well as Switzerland 1934 NABA block (small adhesive mark). Also included are many beautiful picture postcards and postal stationery picture postcards with illustrations from various areas of railroad operation, supplemented by many interesting special and occasion cancellations. This collection is rounded off by 3 bulging stockbooks with more mint, nh, railroad stamps and 1 box with various covers. In short: a great offer that deserves your full attention well!

Christoph Gärtner made his hobby into his profession. He started in 1984 and within two decades the Gärtner GmbH developed into a world leading mail order house for postal stationery and became a specialist for thematics and postal history.
In april 2005 the idea to build a place where collectors, customers and investors from all over the world could meet, was realized.
Since that time both, the Mail Order House and Auction House Gärtner, have been united on 2.700 m2 in the easy accessible building owned by Christoph Gärtner.
Generous viewing and storage rooms, a private auction hall, enough parking space and an underground car park are available.
